The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Goa Dental College has a separate OMFS clinic, implantology clinic, and exodontia. In exodontia, the undergraduates are trained in basic extraction procedures. In the Minor OMFS clinic, all minor surgical procedures under local anesthesia are performed. The department also has an exclusive implantology clinic where placement of dental implants and preprosthetic surgical procedures are routinely performed.
The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has its presence in the Goa Medical College, where all the emergency and trauma services are provided to patients having Maxillofacial problems. In addition, the Department has a 20-bed inpatient ward (138) and carries out all major surgical procedures in Goa Medical College.
